The company I used to work for was bought by an individual who owns several similar companies. There was a plan in place to replace the decent Penske lease tractor I was driving, with a POS tractor they owned that they shipped up from another plant.
When the replacement showed up, I told anyone that would listen that I wasn't going to be driving it. Everyone in management at our plant said "yeah, right" So I got the owners EMail address, and sent him a letter. I showed him pictures of the tractor I was driving, and the POS that they sent from the other plant. Stated the facts, made my case clear, didn't whine, or carry on.
Our plant manager got an EMail later that night, asking him what was going on, why they were doing that, and that the owner didn't know anything about it. Guess he kinda reamed our plant manager.
Anyway, they ended up buying out the Penske lease, and dumping the one sent up. So letters to the right people do work. -

The problem with Kenan is that the management is messed up throughout the company. No one is accountable to anyone higher up in the company so in return the terminals are #### storms. Occasionally we get a really great person in the office who considers is drivers but they usually run or are run off fairly quickly. Charlotte is the worst I've seen.

This company overall is a joke. The safety guy from Warren Pa., Rob G, is about a big of a dirtbag you will ever come across. Got the job as safety guy, because he claimed he cant drive a truck any more because of his bad back. He was the laziest, slowest clock milker at the terminal when he was a driver. As safety guy he has no class, talks to us drivers like we are ####. The only positive is I'm sure he will mess with the wrong person eventually.
Im convinced that the only solution left in trucking, is to have a strong rebound of Teamsters. Us drivers need to quit tolerating the abuse in this industry. But with the underpaid but happy, uneducated, ignorant and stupid drivers, this industry will fast spin to the bottom, like it is now. And companies such as this need to be stopped.Last edited by a moderator: Dec 2, 2014

Haven't heard anything good about them....
Seems like their buying out of other companies has come to a halt.....

i will concede that many companies including Kenan are run by a bunch of "suits" who are absolutely clueless about trucking or what we as truckers have to go thru in everyday operations. It boggles the mind how they got the job in the first place. Maybe they're a bunch of yes men who just kiss butt to get up the ladder.
by and large Kenan leaves me alone but I do have issues with the QComm policy.,they treat us all inc co drivers as if we are a bunch of third graders. My mean peeve is that I can't utilize the 8/2 split on the off duty time. The excuse I'm given is that some co drivers get confused so they mess up. So the suits decide that we all have to suffer and can only use the full 10 hr rest.
i agree with one post, that if you write to the head man, you had better articulate your complaint in a nicely worded letter. Don't show your ignorance because he will just ignore you and write you off.
its the only way to tackle your objections. I get my wife to critique any letter I write, because sometimes I can go overboard with my syntax and rhetoric.
As for giving 2 week notice, I've experienced both outcomes. I gave 2 wk notice to one and they told me go home. The other respected my decision and thanked me for giving them notice. So you just have to figure out which way to go. Good luckLast edited by a moderator: Dec 2, 2014
