If you are thinking about working for Robert Berry or his buddy, Scott, who is the of owner of SDI Transport, BEWARE! They will have you run illegal, act like they know what they are doing, but in reality, have no clue as to the rules of truck driving. If you don't run under these situations, they will fire you. They don't pay on time, and if you quit, they will not pay you, your last paycheck. When trying to contact them, they will not answer their phones and will not return your calls. The truck that I was driving for them, was taken before I was able to retrieve my personal property that was in it. There was over $3000 worth of items that I will have to take legal actions to get back, which in turn will cost me more money. If you would like to talk about this...you can email me.

Sounds like you should call the police to press charges for theft of your belongings.
A threatening letter from your newly retained attorney may be all you need to get your last paycheque and some remuneration for wrongful dismissal, assuming you have some proof that you were fired as retaliation for refusal to break the law.
A phone call to the FMCSA is free and may clarify where you stand in regards to that violation.
I'd bet that a sheriff will be escorting you to your personal property and that the simple threat of a lawsuit would prompt them to return your money.
It's all good to warn people, but if you don't press charges you are accusing a company of unfounded criminal activity, which is itself a crime (libel, slander). Retaining an attorney to draft a letter shouldn't cost you now than a few hundred bucks and if what you say is true, it sounds like a slam dunk to get reimbursed.Gearjammin' Penguin Thanks this. -

600 to 1000 a week for a lowbed driver? To run 48 and Canada? No way. Might be a good way to get some experience but they're not going to get anybody good at those prices. Our lowbed driver makes just about twice that and he's usually home every night.
And the OP...I'm still curious. What the heck did you have in your truck before "they took it" that was worth 3000 bucks?Gearjammin' Penguin Thanks this. -
When I ran solo starting out I probably had more than $3k worth of stuff in the truck... I had an electric and accoustic guitars, amps and some equipment, Macbook, truck GPS, CB Radio, aftermarket CD player and between 500-600 CDs in a huge binder. I was a single gal back then and I owned half a dozen pairs of $200 sneakers and as many pairs of designer shades, 2 iPhones one for Canada and one for the US... That doesn't include work boots and clothes, tools, the fridge, toaster oven, microwave and all the stuff I had for trucking!
$3k would actually be a bit low... Now there's 2 of us in the truck twice as many shoes, phones, clothes, well you get the picture.
