Save yourself the trouble. If you want to get into the contract driver racket, stay clear of the Chicago companies. More importantly, MPEX INC 10S290 Hanslik Ct. Naperville, IL. The idea of working off a 1099 and paying your own taxes my sound intreeging. Even running off paper logs may let you get more miles per week. However, the fines they take from your check each week, and hidden cost taken from your check without your permission will surely piss you off. I leased a truck from them recently, I made little to no money while pulling loads that paid 80%. $5000, $3000 and $2750 all in one week. This was also the week I bought home less than $500. If you try to leave they will not pay you for the two to three weeks pay you have in the hole. But if you can run 4500 miles a week. If you can live with one to two days home after being over the road all month and leaving the company $3000 to $7000 of your hard earned money is not a problem. Have at it.
MPEX INC are Russian Mobsters!!!

No thanks....
Sounds like you learned a good lesson from them
The 1099 should've been your first red flag, just because you don't pay taxes right away doesn't mean you won't pay your taxes later when they track you down like a dog..... Oh well hopefully you learned from this mistake and thnx the heads up to others -
Do they run white Volvos ?
-
The name and location say it all about this company...can't swing a dead cat in that area without hitting a 1099 company like this.

Superflow, yeah I'm just informing everyone. The 1099 was not an issue. If you are an owner operator you should be running under your own company. I've had my own company established for several years now.

Something doesn't add up..... -
Stop. Working. For. These. People. Everyone in trucking knows how bad the Eastern European CHICAGOLAND/ EVERYWHERE Trucking "companies" are. Enough. At this point if anyone is taken by these people it's their own fault.

Ok so your an owner-operator that was intrigued by the 1099 so you leased one of their trucks and got burned with hidden costs that you had no agreements on...... I seee
