How about someone with MORE time in than you? That would be me.
Everything csmcduffee said in his original reply is basically my experience as well.
I worked for J.B. Hunt for a miserable, miserable, miserable, miserable 8 agonizing, painful weeks. Why 8 weeks? Well...because I don't abandon trucks.
I signed on to run Midwest region...home every weekend. I was willing to 'slip-seat' the truck on weekends (as per agreement) at their Cedar Rapids, IA. terminal.
My first trip out took me to eastern Pennsylvania (huh?!? since when did eastern PA. fall into the "Midwest"). And for 8 weeks (despite my constant reminding, imploring, and down right begging) I ran a PA. to Georgia thing, sitting in Carlisle, PA. every weekend.
The BEST week I ran 1750 miles...the worst was 1400.
When I asked why they didn't send me home...they said "nothing going that way, take this one, and we can get something going that way from this area" EVERY TIME.
When I asked why I couldn't get more miles and/or longer runs; they said "you realize If we can keep you around 8 3/4 hours on-duty per day each week you will never run out of 70, and can run on that 8th. day forever" (which was bologna because for that to work, you would have to run every day back then and not have the two zeros for Saturday & Sunday every week).
After 8 weeks of that crap they FINALLY sent me to Cedar Rapids. I unloaded Reisinger just up the road from J.B.'s terminal...called my wife to meet me at the terminal...emptied out the truck...scanned my last paperwork, and dropped it on the counter along with my keys...and never looked back.
The following Monday rolled around, and my dispatcher called to ask if I was ready for my load information. I said "who is this", and he said "this is Michael, your dispatcher" and I said "never heard of you", and hung up.
Yah; pretty crappy experience to say the VERY least. And I could care less if you believe me or not.
To J.B. Hunts defense, I can say this: They DID pay me my last check, and they DID put favorable information on my DAC (i.e.- 'Eligible For Re-hire').
I don't call you out as a liar for your good experience with them...don't call me out for my bad.

The JB defenders always say stuff like this: "well no company is perfect, yada yada yada." Or: "It must be the drivers fault."
Maybe JB teaches these phrases in orientation.
Of course, with so many drivers, there are gonna be a few that aren't getting screwed as bad as the majority. -
Hey Jb hunters, I just got offered an dedicated pallet jack position that averages almost 1100.00 week with 2 days off in a six state area. Are these the good accounts at Jb?

Someone starts a thread like this and disappears, and everyone keeps arguing about it. What a stupid thread, "Is JB Hunt a Good Company"?
All anyone needs to do is use the search box and type in "JB Hunt" and dozens of threads about them will come up.
People start threads like this just to get everyone in a big argument. Anyone notice the OP is long gone?
Don't feed the trolls.ewill71 Thanks this.
