I am looking for some advice and experience from some of you drivers that run the 7/4-7/3 fleet with Roehl out of the Ellenwood, GA terminal. I am thinking about moving over to Roehl and wanted to get some people's opinions that are already on that fleet. I talked with a recruiter today who explained that it would be slipseating with 3 drivers assigned to two trucks and that the cycle was Saturday to Saturday and then Wednesday to Wednesday. She stated I would start at .38 cpm and that they try to get the drivers 2800 miles every week when they go out. I just wanted someone with some real world experience to chime in on how their miles are going on that fleet. I will be in the van division. Thank you in advance.

I pulled van national for Roehl 2yrs ago, and in eight months i only got 2800 miles maybe four times. If i was you I would look into the flatbed side of it, hear they have better miles out of Ellenwood.

I was 7/4-7/3 out of East St. Louis for a bit over 2 years. Even with Roehl you can tell when a recruiter is lying-their lips are moving. 2300-2500 miles per seven days out is closer to the truth. If you need predictable home-time and can deal with an average of 350-400 miles per day average, then it may be for you. If you know how to organize yourself you can be in your truck within an hour and when you return can clean out and clean up your truck within 90 minutes. I'm still with Roehl, it's just that I went lease/purchase.

My gross annual pay while on the 7/4-7/3 was around $32K. Your pay varies, but usually you get paid every week. The way the system works is that one trip is Wed. through Tues. Home Wed. to Fri. Then you leave on Sat. with return on Fri. So if you get home on Friday, you leave the next Wednesday. If you get home on Tuesday you leave on the next Saturday. Keep in mind that you will not always get home when you are supposed to, overall it works out, but sometimes you leave late because they didn't get the driver ahead of you home. Other times you will be the one getting home late.

So, at what time are you expected to be ready to roll on the day your 7 starts? Say you live 200 miles from the terminal where your truck is, do you go the night before to be ready to roll at 0600? Just curious about how that all works out.
