If you're worried about passing a drug test would shaving your head of all hair and going bald aleive that concern?

if you're worried about passing a drug test you shouldn't be driving a truck.

Here's a thought; give up all drugs and alcohol forever. Try again later. Live a lot longer.

Here's a thought, if you drive clean , sober, and properly rested, why does it make a difference what you did when you weren't on duty working. Yes I know what the law says and I obey the law. That being said I think the laws are outdated and need to be reviewed. Should people that need anti-depressants, blood pressure medication, vitamins, pills for sexual reasons, aspirin or ibuprofen , or any other legally controlled medication be told go away for a year and come back when you no longer take anything at all except food and water? While we are at it, we should probably keep gambling addicts of the road as well. They can not concentrate on driving thinking about those sports games and gambling all the time.

    Who are these people?

Not all of us are so weak that we have to lean on one addiction or another. Life is pretty good sober. I do feel sorry for the people who can't get through the day without getting intoxicated. They should get some help. If being sober is being a goody two shoes that's fine with me.

One of the dumbest posts I've seen on this site. Where did you draw your conclusion if we're not potheads we're alcoholics?

My point is just that if you think someone who occasionally uses weed but always drives
sober is a hazard; which isn't true. Then I hope you feel the same about alcohol and get on people's case when alcohol is brought up.

I think the issue with pot vs. alcohol is going to be how long each stays in your system. Your liver burns up alcohol with enough speed such that even if you get pretty drunk, it's all gone from your system within 24 hours, probably sooner. The THC from pot stays in your system for days/weeks. I think it will be awhile before the rule makers have enough data on how this affects driving skills, reaction time, etc. in order for them to give it the OK and have it removed from the banned substances list.

Hair follicle tests are very reliable, not perfect, but very reliable. Different companies use hair from different parts of the body, the slower the hair grows, the further back it will reveal drug usage. Regardless of your arguments weed is illegal in most states, most companies are not looking for people that habitually break the law. May not be fair, but that's the way life is. My personal opinion is that I prefer someone that occasionally smokes a little weed to someone that drinks all the time, I also prefer someone that drinks occasionally to someone that smokes weed everyday. My personal opinion doesn't mean squat, when I work for someone, I follow their rules or I work someplace else. Your "friend" has to make a choice, either smoke weed, or drive a big truck, pretty simple choice.

I've been clean and sober since October of 2013 I was a very occasional pot smoker.Maybe once every 6 months. Would like to start with a company in early June. Do I have to be worried? On a side note after deciding to go for my CDL I made the decision to give it up forever. Not because it's illegal but because getting caught with it in my system could cost me my career.

If you've been clean since October you should be fine. No guarantees though. I have no idea how long that hair follicle test goes back.
