Hi been speaking with a recruiter and getting things lined out to attend roehls training program. Currently studying for my permit and hopefully I'll be in training by end of May. There's a lot of good threads on here but seem to be older. Curious as to how long you go out with a trainer after completing the first phase? What's the biggest rhings to focus on and learn while training/studyin? Also if there is any current people on here currently in the school or fresh out of it Id like to hear your experience and things I need to know/do. Any help and info is greatly appreciated.

Hi -- So others may better answer your questions, you may want to clarify whether the "training program" you're referring to is:
    a) Roehl's CDL school (where you would obtain a CDL), or
    b) The orientation training that new hires get who already have a CDL when they join Roehl, but who do not yet have any driving experience.

Are you planning to get your CDL through Roehl's CDL school (for example in Marshfield, WI) or from somewhere else?

On-the-road training with a trainer (Phase II) is something like 10-14 days. You go through that regardless of whether you get your CDL through Roehl's school or an outside one.

I'm not fresh out of the school, but my advice would be to listen carefully, treat the training process with the seriousness it deserves, and if your driver-trainer tells you to "Stop" while you're driving the truck, stop immediately without questioning or debating. Discussion can happen afterwards, and your trainer will most likely be happy to explain things then. "I thought I could make it" will not be accepted as an excuse if your trainer tells you to stop and something gets damaged (or even if you're lucky and nothing got damaged). And oh yeah -- have fun, because driving one of these rigs can really be enjoyable too.

I'm thinking about to. I've drove Otr have a class b already experience with e-log but I'm limited on it. They seem to be good from what they say. And right now with the predicament me and my family are in we don't need anyone pulling my leg.

Go into Roehl with an open mind and a spirited work ethic that is focused on safety and you will be fine.

Roehl has a good training program.
