I see your from Illinois, I was paid a salary at nussbaum, it was ok until they started shorting the checks due to the fact that they lost the dedicated run I was to be on. It was there way of getting me to leave , which I did and could not be happier. Salary is ok if your doing lots of short runs with low mile weeks.

it would be for flex dedicated out of gary,indiana- was told 5 out 2 home about 2000 miles -no more than 4oo out of park. my main concern is , are there any stipulations(strings attached) to getting paid the salary each week. And do you still get any other perks --stop pay ect... thanks for the reply

The company I was with on salary paid for mutliple stops and detention, however do to the lack of miles it did not go over the salaried amount. This to me is a con, you end up doing a lot of work for free. My dispatcher controled my miles to keep me below the salary amount. Your case may be different. Good luck

One other thing to remember, applies to life in general, but to this business in particular is that NOTHING LASTS FOREVER.jdsgungho Thanks this. -
That would be my full intentions, but thought why not start right here where there seemed to be an abundance of drivers.
I will also visit the gary oc , talk to drivers ask a dbl and possibly call up someone in corporate. I will also be talking to the recruiter again on monday, just trying to get different views from different sides of the fenceBig Don Thanks this. -
Salary is code for work as much as we want you to with no extra pay. I had been on salary for the last 12 years, but never again. If I work I get paid, if not no pay. Makes me happy.

Yep. In MOST industries, salaried worker = slave. But hell, we are already slaves, aren't we?

Generally you don't get anything beyond your salary amount. When I worked at Schneider for you to get extra pay on "salary" it had to be something pretty above and beyond the normal work for your job.
Also the salary is a daily one, so if you didn't work because of a holiday you only got holiday pay for that day, and if the customer had extra holidays beyond the 7 on the SNI calendar you got bupkis that day. If you wanted to work on a holiday you could ask to run and they'd try to find a run for you to do (which paid the appropriate mileage and accessorial for your phase and level plus any applicable holiday pay).
