Well, multiple calls to my DBL and to occupational health this morning. Looks like the earliest I will be back on the road is Thursday, that is best case scenario. The hoops and paperwork they make you go thru to get cleared to drive is astounding. I had to push my follow up appointment to tomorrow to try to get everything done.

Good thing is, if I can't come back this week my DBL is gonna put my vacation time in so I at least get a paycheck, or if I can work but not drive they are talking about light duty at the OC till I can drive again, we will see once my follow up is over, but man, this sucks.

When i was out on medical leave it definitely was a pain getting cleared back to work. Kind of made me regret that I didn't get the short term medical leave coverage, although finances were really of no issue to me. Still sucks though sitting at home making nothing.

wow, want some advice? DO NOT get sick and miss any time here. Holy crap. The hoops you have to jump thru to just get back to work are unbelievable. I understand their concerns about putting someone back in a truck, but it isn't like I had a fricken heart attack or anything. I had a follow up with my doctor today to get some things filled out and have some things printed from my hospital stay and he looked at me and asked if I was serious. He couldn't believe what all they wanted!

40 page fax to occupational health, 40 pages! Now I have to sit and wait for them to go thru all of it before they will make a decision on when I can go back to work, unbelievable.

I hear ya. Being on medical leave is no fun at all. I've been out on medical leave since Feb. 9th (broken arm). Doing physical therapy now. My next appointment is the 23. Hoping to get medically cleared then. I'm sure there will be a lot of paperwork and stuff to go through before I hit the road again. That being said I like the people at my OC so it shouldn't be too bad.

WOW! So that is what I have to look forward to. Lovely. Let me know how it goes so I have a real good idea of what to expect. Thanks and good luck to you.

Say what? When I was out and also in the hospital too, all they wanted was this one page "Return to work" form filled out

Yea, they wanted that one page return to work form and they also wanted:

Office progress notes from my follow up appointment
Hospital notes from my hospital stay
results of any and all tests administered while in the hospital(this was the big one!)
    discharge summary from hospital.

They said because was admitted for a non-injury medical reason that they needed all that information.

Well, thankfully I was cleared to return to work, and will be going back to work tomorrow.

Thank goodness, sitting around the house was driving me nuts.
