There is something morally wrong with a bunch of Schneider executives sitting in air conditioned offices telling their workers to just deal with it and sit in a hot aluminum box parked in a stinky parking lot for the night. It's just really wrong.

I can't seem to grasp why people on the forum don't read and comprehend that between 20 degrees and 70 degrees you can't idle. I know the sensor's are not exact but come on if you can't handle 70 degree weather or even 20 degrees with the bunk heater then you need to go back to the daycare you just came from because this is the real world not some fantasy

The problem isn't the 70 outside, but the heat the cab retains from driving all day and then parking and sun baking the fiberglass n aluminum, making the interior into a sauna. Yeah rolled down the window enjoy pisse smelled parking lots, drivers smoking n talking.

How about this for a solution; All SNI company drivers work there driving time so that the only time a company truck moves is during the day and all trucks stop at sundown and take there break when the sun isn't out so that they are more comfortable. I know it won't happen but maybe then GB would get the picture and ease up the idle rules or better yet put APU in all trucks. Just a thought

And again your tractor retains the heat till after midnight depending on how cool it drops.

Here's an idea.... Don't drive as a company driver for Schneider if you don't want to deal with the anti-idle sensor. It's really just that simple. Rant, rave, whatever you want to do, but it isn't going to change a thing, ever. I got sick of it and made a change to the IC side of life. Simple. Problem solved.

I agree sadwar, I don't get that a driver signs up and knows the rules and policies and then complains when they're expected to follow them. It's worse when non SNI drivers complain and they aren't even a SNI driver. There's a forum for Bad companies but this isn't it.

Kinda unorthodox and I'm not sure it would work, but could you get something to press in the clutch just a little to bypass that system? Maybe a stick wedged between the seat and the clutch. Just a thought, or you could become an ic and use that apu and stay nice and comfy. When I was at sni about 10 years ago they didn't have all those sensors and crap. I just idled when I needed and never got a bonus. Wasn't worth it to me to bake for about $200-300 a quarter back then.

I used to set trailer brakes and idle but I thought I read somewhere that won't work anymore.

And of course there are times when you set for a while and your batteries die, sure would help to idle hot or not. I think what people find offensive is the fact that after all the sacrifices an OTR driver goes through they still can't stand you being comfortable. But I didn't live in a fantasy world, I drove bulk and idled all I wanted. I don't believe I would ever work at a company that refused to let me be comfortable.
