I copy and paste, from Crossroads. When I go from west to east I use the toll road. The pay is better heading east. If I go east to west I might use US 30.

Indiana and Ohio don't give any credit for fuel tax when you use the turnpike, in other words, you still have to pay the tax. That's why companies don't pay those tolls. You pay the toll and the road tax.

No state does. That's why no one likes toll roads. It's a double tax.

The amount of money that I spend running across Ohio Turnpike in the Indiana toll road is worth it considering the fuel savings of having to stop and start through every little town you can think of..

I'm not an IC but i'd likely do the same thing. I don't see how it's worth the frustration/time/cost of going down to 30 or whatever, dealing with the lights all the way, then going back up to 80.

I guess it's something you have to figure in your cost of business when scheduling a load that goes along that corridor.

    mickimause and drvrtech77 Thank this.

I think it costs me about an hour's time to run 30 across Indiana, maybe a little less. I don't race off the line at stop lights. Makes me wonder sometimes if it is worth running that way but I hate to pay the high dollar they want for that crap toll road.
