Delivering a load at 99 mph is what you call safe?

Well came in this morning and did the training with the OSR. all went well and got some good advice. Picked up a load right across the street headed to napoleon oh. Made that delivery and they had no empties that they would release anyways. So called in and got the go ahead to bobtail to my relay pickup and head to the delivery 20 miles down the road. Well here I still sit after rolling through the gate 2 hours ago. Took 45 mins to get on a dock and been here since waiting on a supposed 1 hour unload. Well looks like I'm staying here tonight since not much time left on the 14. Headed to Virginia tomorrow for a early Thursday delivery.

99 mph huh, and this guys is the 3,000,000 miler, Internet claim remember, that says it's safer to drive in first gear through the lot. 4th or 5th gear isn't unreasonable or unsafe at all, I never said tear through the lot now did I? I said don't be that guy holding everyone else up. Be decent about it. But I promise you this, you do that to me and I have some extra time and I can get in front of you, we will see just slow stopped is. You are as bad as a fuel island blocker to me.

Here I sit still at the dock. I am now out of hours so I have to wait on a tow truck to move me. Was supposed to be a 1 hour unload but after bumping the dock at 1800 it was 2130 when they finally finished. I got here at 1730 with 3 hours left and I told them I was low on hours and they said it would not be an issue that it would only be an hour and a half max. Well took 30 mins to get a open dock and then sat for a good 45 mins before they even started. Well with an hour left I went in and asked if I could leave the trailer and go park they said no so out I go to call support shift. After talking to them I talk to receiving again cause at this point I'm out of hours and I inform them that I can no longer legally move my truck. The lady then says fine I guess you just have to park on the dock. Well 30 mins later here comes the supervisor telling me I have to move. Again sorry sir but I cannot legally move my truck so back on the phone with support shift. After awhile on hold while they contact customer service and they contact the receiver finally I'm told a tow truck is in route to move me. They made me wait on them well now they can wait on me. What a night. I hate it cause it's going to delay my run tomorrow and mess with my sleep tonight.

Well was able to make the load and am now sitting at the delivery getting unloaded now. Hopefully since I made it earlier then planned and that I've moved my nat sooner I can get another load without sitting for too long. Here's to hoping

Just because your 14 has run out doesn't mean you can't move the truck, it means you can't drive on a public road. You can move from.a dock to another parking spot on the customers property. Just start your ten hour break from when you're done.

I usually won't even try to make a live unload with less than 3 hrs on my 14 unless J know I have somewhere to shut down. Had I not gotten a dock assignment until I only had two hours left I would not have hit the dock until I had permission to overnight on the property.

I have noy had to sleep at one customer and they allowed it. I always manage my time so my drops and loads are near the beginning or middle of my shift. There has been several times that I shut down with less than 5 minutes left on my 14, but I get really irritated running like that
