Hi all, this is my first post so be gentle... Lol!!
I just got offered a dedicated run on the JC Penney account. I was just wondering if it was worth leaving OTR to do it, both the money and the home time. Thanks in advance!

Yes, there normally drop n hook. Sometimes you may need to get the store to clean it out. They like to use them as trash bins. Pallets are worth money, dont leave them.

If you don't think you will get bored, Pennys had its best year in several and being the low man you'll probably get the drop and unload like everywhere else.

Thanks guys, the DBL said it's mostly hand unload but I don't mind that. It just seems like more money and lots more home time!

I ran columbus. Was a good gig. Steady money. Think the same for down there. You can always switch back in 6 months if you dont like it. I found the money to be better than otr due to regular accessoral pay.

Thanks for the info, buddy. Can you tell me more about the pay, home time, and job in general? The DBL really didn't say a lot about it.

CPM depends on your exp level. , 1500 -2000 miles a week. I averaged 1800 to 2000 a week sometimes a bit more. For our area we got $40 unload plus $10 per stop after the first one (usually 70 total for the days run.). a few D/H. mutliple stop loads for us. Pallet product comes off then garments on hangers at the roof on these racks at the top. Load return items, like bales of cardboard, product returns. Pallets and recyclables too.

year and half I was on it I averaged 800 to 1000 a week gross.

Cant speak to home time at that location, but weekends for sure. Usually for us up here it was typically 60 hours off on the weekend and home most nights.

We would run nights starting from 2200 to 0600 depending on that days run. You get used ot it. Melatonin pills helped.

Its a good gig. I just found soemthing a bit better for me and my needs. I say go for it.

Oh yeah, rarely was a trailer loaded with more than 14k to start. you'll need to adjust a few things driving due to the light weight. Increase your stopping distance. real easy to get hard brakes if you arent on your game. 3 to 5K on return stuff.
