Why do all recruiters give me that 2500 mile/week BS guarantee?

    OK.
So you think you're being lied to.
Why kvetch about it on the internet?

Accept a position and make it work or not.
You don't know if you don't try and remember that half the population is below average.

I'm on Midwest regional, most loads are 300 - 400 miles, short duration loads / unloads. Most of my weeks are over 2000 miles, average is about 2400... it's not long range OTR, but I get my reset every weekend from home and that makes it alright for me. Everyone's experience and expectation is different - I'm OK at 2400 given the number of stops we're making. JustinWaterboro is right about the regional aspect. OTR long drivers should be able to do more than 2400 in a seven day period. 8.75 hours on worked in a day will always keep you positive on your recap hours...

This right here is all you need to know.Someone IN this position reporting his experience. Consistent with what RicecakeFTW(former driver and poster here) had to say as well about western 11 regional as well.

Its great that folks are chiming in but the one with the experience is the one to listen to.

Many Professional Drivers are paid by the mile regardless how many miles or how many hours they spend doing what it takes to pick and deliver a load. The cost is built in to the load. A driver can literally work 14 hours a day or more, sometimes they log only 11(lline three and four) and actually only drive 6 hrs on a 300 mile day with the short run LTL loads being handed out by these dry van companies.

I have a gripe with these companies doing that. They are hauling a high paying load but only paying the driver min wages. These chumps can put a driver on a load that pays $900 dollars and pay the Driver a fixed rate at of 36 cpm maybe 40 cpm on a 300 mile run. I figure they make at least 400 after expenses on a load like that.

Some companies even cut ten percent off the top by using the Household goods method of quoting miles....A driver can literally run 10,000 miles a month but only gets paid for 9000....what a racket!

My expectation is to make at least 20 bucks per hour working only 60 hrs per week. (hello, $1200.00 USD) I would ask the recruiter if can he guarantee me 1200 dollars a week before I sign on!
