Hi guys/gals. I've been driving for a few years, and always been opposed to any sort of lease purchase. However, I'm tired of ######## about my dispatcher, feeling like I could do a better job, bla bla bla. Anyways I have narrowed my choices down to roadrunner, or schneider "choice". I have already been approved for roadrunner, and am in the process with schneider. The upside to roadrunner is higher percentage of revenue, and the ability to use outside brokers. Schneider is a little bit less revenue percentage wise, but there is no trailer rental, and discounts on fuel,etc.... I think I could POTENTIALLY do better at schneider.
Now to my 2 questions. 1) when you look at the per mile rate on the load board does it show you with FSC included, or do they show FSC for the load seperately?
#2.) How does detention work? How many hours til the clock starts/what is the rate?
Thanks in advance for answering.

Ha, I'm pretty much in the same canoe. Schneider choice looks pretty good, but so does Roadrunner. Roadrunner offers longer runs, possibly dedicated, but Schneider has a huge freight base and you know they aren't going anywhere. I have seen where some have complained of favoritism at RR, which you won't have to worry about at SNI. The revenue potential at RR looks promising, but that's if you can figure everything out cause they tell you flat out you are on your own.
I don't know, I'm having a hard time with it myself. -

I will say if you have never been a O/O or dispatched your self or dealt with a broker then go with SNI. It's easier to book loads what you see is what you get there's no haggling over rates and if you pick up the system quickly you'll make good money as long as you aren't afraid to work.
knuckledragger and ew2108 Thank this. -
come now the most work we do is deciding which way to go -
TO OP, hope you don't mind me asking questions on your thread.
