Except your post was about an inoperative cellphone. In today's trucking world, having one of those is not only about "life", as you called it, but OH, so much more.

Or you can be on duty for your pretrip, switch to off duty and then switch straight back to on duty. By changing your duty status you'll get two separate log events that can be flagged separately. That's what I do, never considering doing it your way actually. Then again I always fuel at night before my post trip.

    ###### all! I had a killer week lined up .... until yesterday. I was supposed to pick up at 1 in md, and have the load kicked off in mass by midnight.... Would have made it a $4000 + week. Of course, I get to Bob's and there are a billion trucks in the road, and nothing happened even close to schedule... The good news is I got the load delivered by 1 this morning, so we are starting this week off on a good foot. Gotta find that silver lining ######!

Yeah I ran into something similar last night..This paycheck isn't going to be the greatest, but I start off the week with a bang..As long as we get paid eventually.

I had 5087 lined up this week and get delayed on 1st load so they reschedule delivery for the 10th so now It's a drop at the Atl oc all loads taken off me so i rebook a load to the house for 4.02 a mile load for 422 miles... the loads are screwy to say the least.

Choice board is set up for over the road drivers. You might be able to piece together some localized stuff but nothing like a home everyday setup like your wanting.

The only way you'll get home every day or every other is a local gig either with SNI or another company. As an IC with SNI you could probably put together loads to make it work but you will probably not make it long leasing a truck, now if you buy one out right that opens up more possibility of what you want. With 1 year experience I don't recommend you doing that unless you have deep pockets.

I understand wanting to be home every/every other day. To be truthful I think most of us would like that. I will tell you that since becoming an IC at schneider I haven't increased my time at home very much. ( I could).... but I have increased the quality of my time at home, if that makes sense.
