I started w/ Schnieder pulling tankers. After doing my research, I felt like they were the best starter company out there.
They constantly drill safety into your head. They have mandatory quarterly safety training, which was good for me as a new driver. The paid was pretty good and I got home three weekends every month.
My only gripe was the micromanagement from my dbl AND lead dbl. Always barking "Mac 14! Mac 17! Mac 6! Why this?! Why that?!" Lol, I no longer work for them but I lasted a year and then it was time to take my experience elsewhere. One thing I miss is NEVER having to back up to a dock & [what I call] doing the "limbo" under bridges [12'6"/13'0"] that other trucks couldn't. [emoji12]
I was the only regional guy in my class and also the only one that never complained about the pay. All of the OTR guys I kept in touch w/ all had complaints, and 4 of them left before I did. I think the pay scale is different between them. -
I've been with Bulk since Sept.2, 2014. So far I am pleased with the training I received, good instructors, they are very safety minded! Good for everyone! I making about what I expected(remember its just a starter job for good training and experience) my truck is decent, no complaints. If all stays as it is by next year I will probably lease a truck and take it to the next level! Be safe where ever you go! Good Luck!
