I can not be the only one
When I started my dedicated account, others were teaching me to log out while unloading my trailer
While I know this is nothing new to drivers, it is illegal and unfair to you,
But my problem is the pay PERIOD and how they lied about my hours
(MY paystub said 9.5 hours) I worked 13.5 hrs that day and I am positive because my Qualcom was yelling at me that I had 28 minutes left for the day and I was praying to make it back to my yard by then. I did with 12 minutes remaining.
ONE EXAMPLE: I got paid $108.00. that equates to $8.00 an hour, I am in Seattle and the minimum wage is $9.47 an hr
now I get that I'm on a CPM pay but come on already Schneider the CPM should at least equal minimum wage
Drivers get into driving to make a decent paycheck not work at or below minimum wage

DriveHer and flybynight12 Thank this. -
I did quit and it is valid to let others know to go elsewhere and really to find out how much of this is going on within Schneider
freightwipper Thanks this. -
your told everything in orientation whats going down your the one who sat their. and a while later theres going to be 10 sni guys on this form raving how they are treated way better and theres more to the story cause your draggin your feet if the wheels aint turnin you aint earnin point blank.
-
Unfortunately a long time ago in a galaxy far far away the trucking lobby got themselves exempt from minimum wage laws. If you are on cpm they can pay you anything they want. I agree with you that its entirely wrong that you are making less than minimum wage there.

There is no dragging, I gave an example of one day. I worked 80 plus hours in one week and made $520.00.
In orientation I learned about the crappy pay per mile and accepted it to get my experience but....
WHAT THEY DIDNT TELL IN ORIENTATION is on this account you CANT KEEP ROLLING and accumulating many miles because it takes 3-4 hours to unload your own trailer per stop and your going have 2 to 3 stops per trailer. That is 9 to 12 hours unloading time and during orientation the word was 75.00 for each unload but once I started it was 95.00 for the 1st unload and 25.00 a unload after that. So you go 12 miles down the road for the 2nd stop get $3.60 for that 12 miles and $25.00 to unload for 3-4 hours. Amazing all the little stuff they left out in orientation. -
Well it sounds like you quit already. Hopefully you have learned to ask the right questions in your next orientation. Also make sure you read the particulars on any dedicated route you take. They always have seperate pay scales and stipulations. If your a new driver you really should be asking why a new driver is even being offered a dedicated acct. if it's not a brand new acct then there is probably something wrong with it. But there are several better companies in this area to work at. Good luck.
DriveHer Thanks this. -
The unload pay is for the entire trailer, then you get stop pay. You dont get $95 for every stop and I know it is laid out in plain English.
apparently you signed on as an inexperience driver, they gave you a shot to get skin in the game and took advantage of you in the process. Get your time in, put your big boy shoes on and then move on when you have experience for a better companymickimause and EggoTrucker Thank this.
