I was curious if Schneider tanker would have any opportunities for someone with a CDL, but no experience? I got a CDL back in 07 but was hired for a non driving job. Now I'm looking to get back in. Any help would be appreciated.

Probably have to go thru CDL school. The good news is Schneider will pay for it. Their tanker school is in Houston which you will attend after completing CDL school. Good paychecks with Schneider Bulk(tanker).

Unless you've been keeping the physical up on your own dime the CDL has probably reverted to an ordinary Operator's license. As Far as I know Schneider specialized is still hiring guys with no experience.

I've been up to date on my DOT card, so no worries there. Have to redo the hazmat though.

If you haven't been driving in the last year Schneider will probably require a refresher course before they'll bring you to orientation. It may sound unnecessary but in a lot of cases like yours it takes time to "knock the rust off". Trying to relearn how to shift, back, and drive while learning company policies just doesn't work.

I believe that Schneider has one of the best new driver training programs in the industry. However our bulk division is going thru a technology upgrade wh ich is causing some "minor disruptions" - also known as pissing the heckler out of the drivers. Long term it will be for the best, but right now everyonee hurting.

Thanks for all the info everyone. What are realistic expectations pay wise for a beginning driver?
