I have a issue that I need help with. My husband has a hot check felony that is 14 years old (the ex wrote) and a misd hot check that he wrote 5 years ago but wasn't taken care of till 3-4 years ago, both are paid. He is a 8 year US MARINE (with 2 purple hearts) He was laid off from work 2-09. He can get the WIA it takes 4 weeks to get. We are wanting to team so I would need to know what companies would take him, so I can get on with them now and then when hes done he can join me.
any leads here would be good....
(and yes...this sucks for me...since I am clean....)
~~~I WILL NOT ACCEPT THAT THERE ARE NO COMPANIES OUT THERE THAT WILL HIRE HIM...AND OTHERS!
If you can murder someone and still drive on the highways in a bullet then there is hope!!!
Thank You in advance
...ps... there are also other guys/gals out there going through this to so I am sure they could use some ideas as well....
Companies that will take new students with felonies, theft ect
Look into Hirshbach Trucking. I was on their website last week, and it stated that they hire with a felony, as long as it was before a certain date.Don't remember what that date was, though.
mje Thanks this. -
Try Carolina Cargo and Midwest Continental use to hire ex/Felon. They're out of Sioux City, Ia or S.Sioux City, Ne.
I had a felony about 19 yrs ago, I was a dumb punk back then, this was about a small amount of pot (sale). CR England was good enough to forgive me, as I tried to get hired by at least 60 other companies, which they all would not forgive me. Maybe they had enough employee's at the time. Anyhow, try CR England, and don't hide anything, because at the beginning of the training, there will be an East Chicago cop or 2 there, doing an interview, they will find out everything about your husband past. Now I think CR England says, no conviction in less than a 7 yr period, but it wouldn't hurt to try....
by looking at 100's of companies websites over the last few years, i have found that an old felony is EASIER to overcome than a DUI.
I am sure there are a myriad of companies that would be willing to overlook the check felony if it's told up front. It will disqualify yall from running into Canada, but other than that you should be fine with most starter companies.
Thank you guys and gals for your helping tips....We have tried CRST, TransAm, FFE, Covenant, CRETE/SHAFFER companies. I have called many others. so far nothing. We sent aps for SWIFT 6/24/09 at 10am so we shal c. The recruite said they would have to send it through investagations first. He has papers showing they were dismissed from the county courts but USIS still shows it. So who knows. When we call these companies we tell them straight up whats on there. We don't want to waste there time or ours. Thanks again folks....
It's not OTR, but many construction companies will hire felons. It may be a good back up plan if he's got his heart set on driving. Good Luck.
mje Thanks this.
