Americold, Carthage Missouri, underground HELL.

Had a drop and a hook at Americold, took over 24 hours to get out of that place. First they told me to come in early, then they called me late. After that it took them 4 hours longer to unload, making me late to pick up at the same place! Then I go to hook my other trailer, and they ruined a tire and rim on the trailer.

The thing that topped it all off was they still wanted to charge me a shag fee for the trailer they broke!

Not much of a drop and hook. It sounds to me like they should be charged for a variety of reasons.

Yeah, it was more like a live unload, drop, hook, and welcome to hell, watch us break things! Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you all about the needles and crackpipes laying around their secured yard!

Hey, Sad....

Panda Bear, you're talking about the "Cave" warehouse off of US 71 not far from Joplin. Your post brings back memories, man.

I went there about 11 years ago. The place was pretty cool--using undergound networks of tunnels with reefer warhouses for storage.

I THINK this complex was where the "chosen folks" went in the movie Deep Impact (?). Could be wrong, though.

I'm gettin' passed by Yella
And even Overnite
I'm gettin' passed by ever' body in sight
46 days on the road
And I'm not gettin' home tonight

No, my hometown's nowhere in sight
And if you think I'm pissed off
You're right
46 days on the road
And I'm not gettin' home tonight

Love pissing off those trucking company insiders.

Here's a listing of the locations used in the film, and Americold is not listed.

I never said they actually filmed there

Who said they actually filmed there? I didn't. They just made references to "an underground facility" in the movie. Maybe it was the caves and maybe it wasn't.

I have always wanted to go there, maybe in another life....

I am always up for a challenge, I believe with a little effort I can put my truck and trailer anywhere.

It's not really a problem putting it in the hole, it's a problem getting a hole to put it in, and the people to unload it!

I hated that place. Been many years since I was there, but I do remember hating it. One of those places where it seemed like there was always a problem of some sorts.
