Hey guys sorry not trying to steal your post but I've been looking for answer to this question too. So du guys know if swift really does hair test? What about us xpress? Not a smokers but did have couple joints few monsth ago now I have a baby I stopped all that mess. Just looking for a new and decent carrer. Thanx inadvance!

 

Good for you for stopping.Next time you see a USX driver,ask them about their drug test.I have'nt been with any company that does a hair test.

 

I'm not going to judge you at all bud, everyone I know used to smoke but this job demands you don't. Even occasional use can screw you. I personally don't see anything wrong with smoking a joint at a party if you are on a week vacation or something but I don't make the laws, I just have to abide by them. If u ever want to smoke again you can't drive is the simple answer and if u can't refrain from drug use don't get ur cdl.

 

When I was younger I smoked weed just about every day for maybe two or three years. Over time it just wasn't fun anymore and I eventually quit. Fast forward to earlier this year, I was at a party and a bowl was passed to me, I took a quick hit and that was it. I had been drinking (you know the lethal substance that is somehow ok when you're off the clock) and it was a spur of the moment thing. Last month I decided to go to trucking school, interested in taking a new career path. A path that I now know and accept that I can never smoke the demon weed again. Nor do I particularly care to.

Problem is, it'll still show up in my hair. That's my new career, new life path, finished before it even got started because of a single hit! "We don't need your type out on the road!" Having a puff at a party several months ago has no bearing on how I'm going to be when I'm out on the road. As I said, no desire to smoke anymore.

People have vices, and as long as they don't bring those vices out on the road, more power to them!

Now, could someone answer the mans question? I too am wondering.

If I made that kind of money and had those benefits. I would not care what my mother thought of me i would have stayed at the tech job

ive actaully called swift yesterday and asked about what type of drug test they use and the guy told me "every type of drug test". i understand why hes not trying to tell me cuz i know some people would look on how to cheat. so you guys know for sure that there is no hair follicle test correct?? theyre also asking for a $500 housing fee???!! what!? but if i can get trained and get a job then it doesnt matter if i have to pay,

 

seems like every other day this comes up, if you worried about a drug test you don't need to be driving a truck.
