That is the impression I've gotten.

I once asked my DM how many days home time I had coming, and he only looked at how many days I had been out since returning from my last home time.
And I seldom take more than 3 days off, but usually stay out at least 4 weeks.

I'll be out a bit longer this time.
I am trying to save for a new computer so I can hand down my current one to my sister, who will then hand hers down to my daughter (who currently needs a new one).
I was planning another 2 weeks if the miles stayed good, but then my ex asked for extra money to help with school time and other stuff.
So I'll be staying out at least another week than I had planned.
I've been out 3 since my last ht.

I have been out 3 weeks and plan to be going home on the 6th just in time for October fest on the 7th in Tehachapi :p
so that will be just a tad over 1 month out, might take 4-5 days depending how well I do this next week, rent is already made at least.

Hey y'all I'm soon to be going to swift driving school and as wondering if its easy to get loads in and out of Sacramento? Just like the gentleman that started this thread that is where my son lives, I would assume there is a fair amount of freight going to and from... also woflyinc my family as a long history in Tehachapi my grand father was actually the mayor there!!! Love that little town.

I've taken home time there a few times. It has never been more of a problem getting a load out than in.
You may go through a nearby terminal (there are 2), or you may get a load out of Sparks, NV.

When I used to run otr I used to go home every 11 days no exceptions. Now I'm on a dedicated and home every night :) and the money doubled. I don't see why people stay 3 weeks out when it's the same money as 2 weeks. Well from what I seen

dedicated is more consistent and normally higher cpm, there are dedicated accounts all over but I am not sure near Sacramento besides the Woodland Target DC which Swift just took over the entire account a couple weeks ago after they kicked Werner out.
Normally you have to be otr for a bit before getting on with a dedicated BUT i have seen people get them in the beginning, one guy on my fleet was otr for 3 weeks before coming here, have known a couple who trained with mentors who were on dedicated and got a spot. Just do not expect those positions right out of Academy, most work to get those and some wait for awhile. It took me 7 months of trying to get on this fleet.

    ramblnman Thanks this.

I got on a dedicated after bugging my dm. I believe we got a new target account up here in Fontana and the pay wasn't so good. So the Swift drivers asked for a raise and got on salary. There's accounts out here that pay you 180 a day to work 7 hrs. Just gotta look

well Swift took over part of the Fontana account, they were there years ago and got the boot and less than a month ago they got back in, I was down there helping them the first couple days but got paid my normal wages of the DC im out of.
Talking to some of the older drivers on my fleet at one time it was paid daily rates, hourly rates and cpm rates, currently its cpm with the exception of a couple who get hourly.
