Mac 34 just updates the system with your PTA ... Mac 22 goes to the CSR so they can negotiate the delivery time with the customer ...

Doing a 10 at a rest area on I-94E a few past Madison WI. Can't believe how many trucks are idling in this excellent weather...low 60s and no humidity. Too noisy.

Finished up my load to a ghetto Walmart on the south side of Chicago. Was challenging to get backed in off the street. Then took a load of batteries up to St Paul, then picked up a preloaded lightweight trailer at Inver Grove going back to CHICAGO. Enough already!! Been in and out of there four times this week. I prefer not being a regional delivery boy for these planners. Been humping short hauls all week and all the line4 activity is killing my recaps. THEN..after leaving The Grove I get a preplan for 34miles loaded and 47 mty after I unload what I now have in the morning. This new little load is from Chicago to Costco in Morris. I told my DM I'll do this to Morris but the NEXT better have some teeth and get me away from here. She agrees and says she'll mssg the keyboard monkeys. Uh, ok.

Ten mins after I get going again I get another ppln and think oh goody...miles!! Pull off and about crapped when I read it. Bring a broken trailer from Costco in Morris to Gary IN terminal for repairs...60 miles and no backup!! I can't repeat the foul language I spewed forth but my internal fuses started blowing!! Back on the phone with my DM again..she looks at it and says Oh Hell no, you're not doing that!! I told her she was right. She made a phone call and had it removed.

Get going AGAIN and th QC starts blowing up mssg after mssg. I stop again and start reading. Got three long loads stacked from Morris to upstate MN, then to Utah, then on down to TX ending next Wednesday totaling a cool 3200 miles. Yeah Dog!!

she calls me and says How's that?? I told her I'm buying her lunch next time I'm in Houston.

Sometimes saying NO is the best thing.

I'm still stuck at Target in PA, but I've gotten a load home to MN.
I say stuck like it is a bad thing, but it really isn't. Except that I miss OTR in the 48.

I get a call this morning from Larry asking if I'm ready to play (after a day off that couldn't even get me a 34 reset), and I mention that I have a home time request in for the 18th in MN.
He asks me to take a load and he'll see what he can do.
A couple hours later I have my load to MN. (Well, close. Augusta, WI - but I can BT from there.) He tells me to let him know when I'll be back from home time so I can get back to playing.
    LOL!

I'll get home on the 19th. Perfect!

As much as I dislike the 'local' gig, the people here have been really great. They have left me alone when needed, and have accommodated me in every way.

At the Quality Inn in Washington, UT (near St. George) because my truck had to be towed to the Freightliner dealer in Hurricane, UT.

According to Freightliner it's injectors and covered under warranty.

Which means I'm out the tow bill and lost revenue.

Dallas heading to Phoenix to buy my Prostar. Payment goes up $25 and down however much the recalculated physical damage insurance will be. I'm getting the service contract which adds to the contract term without increasing the payment. Mine all mine in 2 years and 4 months.

I'm going to look into towing and rental truck insurance because the lost miles would be bad enough. Towing not covered is salt in the wound.

Doing a 10 at the new Peelot across from Costco DC in Morris IL

Finished my load to Pier 1 in Tinley Park then headed into Batavia for a quick live load going to Costco. My load from Costco back to MN wasn't ready so hung out a bit. Finally sent the trailer number and go around back to get it and find that someone had backed the trailer into a short yellow pole and just mangled the right rear mudflap bracket all up into the frame of the trailer and tore off half the flap!! Just great!! Fresh yellow paint still on the bracket.

Called onroad, they said to have the "shop" there fix it. The "Shop" is a couple guys running around. Says they'll get to it later. My 14 only had a few left so I dropped the trailer and left. Hope it's fixed by morning as load is set to deliver by 15:00 tomorrow in Minneapolis.
