Hello everyone. I'm considering starting my driving career with Swift in the van or possible flatbed division. I need some information from current drivers on the cost of healthcare for a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 children).
Thanks.

I have the same question but not many want to talk about it. not even the recruiters.

I am paying $200 per month for a pretty basic plan with vision and no dental, and I am single.
I have no idea what a family plan would cost, but I'd bet it would be a LOT more.
Add in dental and extended coverage and it would cost just about what I make each week.
By the way, there is a $6,000 per year deductible.
So figure $30,000, just for me, before they pay a dime.
The reason no one wants to talk about it is, it is VERY expensive.
A waste, really.
If I ever had something so bad that it would exceed that cost, I would not be working anymore and could not pay the premiums. So I would be SOL anyway.
I'm locked into it this year, but I'll be cancelling it at the end of the year. -
January when the employer mandate kicks in, most companies will likely be dropping employer provided coverage anyway. Then hopefully people will finally wake up and force the unaffordable care act to go bye bye.
I have the vision insurance. Just bought new glasses. It was cheaper to use the Lenscrafter discount deals than to use my insurance.....by a LOT. -
Thanks, I appreciate the information.
