No kidding, lol. By calling the animal shelter, you're hassling someone that has zero influence on policy and could be spending their time doing something far more productive. i.e. Caring for the animals in the shelter. Some poor dog is going to have to sit or lay in their piss and **** for a couple extra hours...because the guy/gal is too busy listening to and deleting voicemails.

Additionally...by tying up the lines with jerk-off phone calls...you're preventing people from getting through that are trying to locate lost animals or are interested in adopting animals from the shelter.

    Jumbo and Chinatown Thank this.

The local citizens are probably the ones that want the ordinance. The politicians didn't come up the the ordinance because they were bored and wanting something to do; they were pressured by the local citizens.
I enjoy walking for excercise in my neighborhood after dark and it's a real pain with the pit and other large dogs lungeing at me even though they're on a leash. One of these days one will break loose from the owner and that when my phillips head screwdriver will put a permanent stop to it. If the dog owner then attacks me, he will get a taste of it also.

I love dogs. Also hate to see any animal put down. I'm coming at this from a different angle. That one being that the driver was irresponsible and caused this to happen.

Let's give the driver 50 lashes then, not kill an innocent animal.

You are correct, even though pit bulls get a bad rap the owner has to know what the local laws are regarding them.

Or a hefty fine. I don't think the dog should be put down (I'll leave my opinions about pit bulls aside) but I'm not in charge.

Ya he looks real mean.Pits sure do have a bad reputation don't they. When in reality it's how they're cared for that makes them either mean or gentle.

    Not dog haters.

Just people who believe in personal responsibility.

The reason (the only reason) this happening to the dog is because of irresponsibility on the owners part.

Some one who wants to adopt it should step up to the plate.
