just go to any truck stop south of san antonio they are full of frac haulers, so many in fact you might not find a parking spot, even during the day. a few i talked with were unhappy about the amount of trucks and lack of steady work. lots of luck

I was in Texas in July, Three Rivers, whic.h is south of San Antonio. There are very few jobs down there right now. The problem is the number of qualified drivers already there. If you really want to haul frac sand look at companies in Colorado or Wyoming. The turn over rate in Texas is very low. There are more jobs in Co. and WY because not to many people want to drive there in the winter months. The pay is very good. I worked in Colorado in 2005 and was paid $25 per hr. 8 days on 4 days off. The company I drove for unfortunatley went out of buisness. Haliburton. Key, Schlumberger (pronounced slumber jay). Theses are three good companies and have great benefits

Hey guys thanks for the tips. Im just exploring my options now I've been hauling cars for awhile and been real slow also I just know me being in the middle of all the oil patches that it would be a good deal to do. I may go back to dry van or flatbed if I can find anyone that wants to pay any good wages

Here are a few around Odessa/Midland and Lubbock. S TX sucks. Lot of work but Hell to get around a lot of places. Lot of short hauls. Corpus-Three Rivers or Cotulla. Any wait and you don't make much. I prefer W TX for sure or panhandle or OK. FTW-Mentone 400+ miles Rankiin 350 Big Lake 335. On percentage you make much more on these. I went up to Brownfield while back. Not big area yet. But great roads and quick unload. Over 350 miles. There are a lot more companies in Midland and I can't think of them. One is GLC or GTL something. Have seen a million of their trucks and have brain fart. Another one in Odessa has rail yard we pick up SLC resin sand. Another 3 letter company. FRD or something. On Murphy ST off Kermit Hwy cutoff.

You can look at Joe Brown out of Ardmore Ok. They keep trucks all over and I hear they just bought some new ones. Nice people over there
