I started riding in gasoline tankers when I was 4 years old. My Father started as a driver and worked his way up to a safety engineer. With all the people I knew for the company it wasn't hard to find a spot. I did have experience and came off of triples when an opening came along. It was the best job I ever had and it's made a good living for my family. But just like the old saying goes " the more you make the more you spend".

Right out of CDL school, I started with a local gig driving a 10 wheeler roll off (w/transfer trailer) and a 2000 gallon straight vacuum truck pumping concrete wash out . A few years later I found my current company and started running HazMat end dumps and roll offs. They acquired a tanker and had someone else running it, hauling various types of HazMat liquid waste. He moved on to another company and I was fortunate to be entrusted in filling the vacancy since I had previous vacuum experience. Been running almost non stop since. Nothing but Haz waste. Very little waiting to load, but many hours of paid stand-by waiting for the lab sample/analysis before unloading

Hazmat tanks since day one only person in CDL school to want it right off. But it payed off ,year and change later Im a lot more likely to get a gig over my Swift and CRST counterparts. And I feel Im a better driver for it, surge does strange things to ya. Good Luck!

started off with hauling well water, flowback, freshwater, and produced water...then I moved to hazmat tanks and now I haul food grade liquid sweetners.
