That .42 and .34 was it to start? With experience or recent grad? Any idea what to expect with them to start?

The.42/.34 is OTR systtem base pay for dedicated rus is .28 to start but they have very few ded.runs. You also get $100 for doing a 34hr.reset on the road and if you set 24hrs.waiting for a load while OTR. Can't remember what they paid during training. But the training is usually about 3-4weeks. You would do your orientation in Mulberry. So you would probably get all your pump-off training during orientation. I am out of LA and got a partial release after finishing training and had to go down to Mulberry for pump training. In my first full year with CTL I made over $45,000 and was only gone from home around 250 days.

Ive tried with florida rock and tank. They won't touch you until you been driving a year.

Okay, today I spoke to a CTL recruiter. Unfortunately, they don't hire out of South Florida I was told. I even said I might move to Gainesville, but she still said it's far (Gainesville to Mulberry is ~150 miles). She mentioned that she can consider me for a position with CCC, which is also a company under ComCar, but she is not sure if the position will be available within 3 weeks, when I graduate. The job is local also, but I am not interested much in local, unlike most people. Anybody have anything to say about CCC?

I still haven't been contacted by Indian River. If I don't get a call today or tomorrow I will call them to get a status on the application.

Meanwhile I will apply to some other tank/hazmat companies. Any advice and insight are appreciated!

i was just at their tampa office on monday to leave an application i waited for about half an hour nobody showed up so i figured they were out at lunch as it was lunch time. just when i was getting ready to leave a driver shows up and i ask him if he knows where everyone is he tellls me he doesnt know and that he was dropping off his keys because he was quitting, according to him he was working 16 hour days for $300 a week he then proceeded to show me his paystub. he told me id be better off getting my hazmat and go apply at dillon or just about any other company. im still waiting to see if CCC calls me ill take a job with them just for the experience since ive only had my cdl for a few weeks and havent found work.

Hmmm.. Thanks for sharing this man. That's not good. I heard Dillon picked up a big contract from CTL, so Dillon might be a good choice for you? I will check now to see if they have anything close to me.

Okay, Dillon is out of the equation - they want 2 years experience. If it was 1 year I would still apply, but if they say 2 years I will not waste their time.

Can anybody recommend a tanker company in Florida except for the ones currently mentioned in this thread? Chinatown, any ideas?
