Hi all. I/m looking for recent info from anyone who works at, or has recently worked for Kane Transport.

How are they to work for? How do they treat you? How is the pay? How is the equipment? How are the hours?

    Any recommendations? Cautions?

Feel free to PM me and be anonymous if you wish. I may go to work for them, but am trying to do homework first.

I tried them once for 4 days last year in Feb. 2013. Two days of orientation and 2 days with a trainer b4 I quit. Pay was too low for me. I was told $40,000 your first year average, and then $50,000 or more your second year as you gain experience and become more familiar with the area. There are hazmat tanker jobs that pay much better. I'm sure they do have guys that make a lot more than that. The trucks we used had automatics. I tried there gas hauling division doing local work. You'll spend about a half day at the refinery during orientation learning about there different policies and procedures. Unfortunately, they did not have any trainers available at the time when I started at there Inver Grove Heights terminal.

They just picked a driver who came in to work his shift, and told him to take this guy with you and show him what to do. The look on his face was priceless. It was obvious he did not want to be bothered. Well, that's exactly how the training went too. We pulled up to the rack to get loaded for the first time and he told me I'm only going to show you this once. After that, I did all the work. Which is fine. Best way to learn is hands on. Only problem was he wouldn't say a word after that. No helpful advice or suggestions. He didn't want me driving his truck either. Funny because I had a lot more driving experience than he did. I also grew up in the Twin Cities and am pretty familiar with the area. Oh well, water under the bridge. I've moved on.

Most of our drops were in the city. So some of these gas stations are a pretty tight fit and can be a challenge to get into. After 2 days with this ### hat I had enough and resigned. There were no other drivers or trainers available at the time. They wanted me to try out one of their other divisions hauling asphalt, biodiesel, or propane. But I turned them down and went back to hauling crude oil down south. During orientation the supervisor told us that they get busy during the spring and summer. So expect to work a full 12-14 hours. The people I met and dealt with over the phone and during orientation seemed like very nice people. I just wasn't their long enough to form a valid opinion about the company. I can't say they're a bad company based on one bad apple. I'm sorry I wasn't much help. I just wanted to give my 2 cents worth. If you do go to work for them let us know how it goes. I'd be curious to see how it works out for you. Good Luck

If you like getting jerked around working long days and only making about 12/hr. they tell you about this great wage based on loaded miles. well the other half of your day your not making anything. I was their 6 weeks and about 5.5 weeks too long. NOT GOOD

Kane is like a fuel hauler starter company... Most of the guys I see get to know the ropes in about 2 years and move on to Wayne Transport. Some of their older trailers are really crap... They come from the old Koch Refinery when they ran transports. If you have experience hauling gas, it would be a total joke(Someone with 15+ years of gas hauling went to them, and they wanted him to go with a 'trainer' that has been doing it for 2 years).

They would likely start you on ethanol which doesn't pay crap... but if you stick it out. You could easily move to better things.
