Yeah I just hate Chicago traffic did a local run Monday took 6 hours at veld spar because they don't normally get compartment trailers were 3/4 are loaded and all 3 same product so took them 5 hours to get approval to unload then to go 43 miles took 3 hours so I spent my whole 14 almost on a small 80 mile run

I think you enjoyed being a Trainer with Schneider, ethos! Any plans to become a Trainer with Trimac?

Well I delivered my load today in mineral wells, tx and it was two days late because trailer and truck problems but I pull up to customer behind a trimac truck and I thought about asking him if needed to check in but decided to just go in well trimac unloads then leaves then I unload and sign their sheets and see the trimac name and guess who it was Ethos, call him up and tell him that I was the Schneider driver and we both laugh because delivered to same customer kinda wish I had knocked on his truck could have finally met the famous ethos lol

Okay it's been a while so I need to update on how things are going. Will be 6 months in the next few weeks.

We got taken off our Dow dedicated runs so we lost our minimum. But it actually worked out better, the runs have been long and the pay is up slightly. It's kinda strange but Trimac runs old school OTR, long, long haul. We almost never relay. At Schneider my longest run ever was 2400 miles and that was the only time I ever ran over 2000 in one run. In 6 months here I have done it 8 times. Longest run was 2600 miles. Shortest run was 389. I'm loving it but trip planning is a must here as you are expected to run recap hours.

I still get irritated at the lack of efficiency with all the different companies and terminals under the Trimac banner but I found a reliable guy for when I need help from the office so that's working out.

I really like the fact that they pay you what you deserve. For instance I was detained for over 30 hours because the plant didn't have room to take the product. I drove to a truckstop but got paid 16.50 an hour for 30 hours. Schneider would have just paid me layover.
    .
Maintenance has not been very good though. I've only used them twice but I was not very impressed. Had several issues, both truck and trailer. Nothing DOT or safety related but still it's there. The equipment is a bit better on average than Schneider.

People have been very nice and professional, no complaints there. Help is usually there if you need it. Night dispatch can't do much though, they have no authority.

Loads have been easy, unloads even easier. I haven't done a single pump off, I hope I remember how, lol.

So far it's been a great switch. Best money I have ever made, nobody bothers me and my runs are long. Can't complain about to much.

    Why no reset..... ?

P.S. You can't say it, but I will. Hauling for Dow sucks . You're better off....

You can take a reset if you can get one in. From reading these boards and hearing other drivers talk I think lots of people think that once they run out of hours they have to take a 34. I left San Francisco with 5 hours on my 70 and recapped my way to Atlanta.

I don't mind Dow, the loading sucks but they deliveries, at least for us, have been cake.

In another 2 weeks, I'll be joining you on the Tanker side of the fence. Trimac wouldn't touch me, But I got hired on at a private Chemical company in SLC. I'm pretty excited about it.

This was a useful piece of info as I have been waffling between applying for both of these
