How much on average would you say the pay goes up after a driver gets 1 year of experience?
I'm thinking about Prime, Inc Tanker Division. They seem to have good training as well as decent pay for Bulk Chemical hauling (I don't think they have Food Grade, but dont' quote me on that). I'd be there for a year (or more if I'm still happy there).
Prime, Inc says they start at around 41 cents a mile.
Tanker after 1st year....

I looked into prime and I believe the only do food grade.

For Prime tankers division I remember reading somewhere starting off higher than 41cpm, I just don't remember. I'm thinking of doing the same thing too

Prime is nothing but food grade. There are not many of them, or they must hide well because I never see them. If you want to make good money you should look into chemical hauling.

Yes, hazmat is where the money is.
There's some good food grade companies out there once you have 12 months experience, such as Foodliner and Bulkmatic.
Doesn't hurt to apply anywhere though; local terminals, show up in person to apply:
Amerigas
Ferrellgas
Airgas
Aircraft Service International Group
BBA Aviation
Praxair
Clean Harbors
If Schneider Bulk hires in your area; that would be a good place to start.Last edited: Aug 15, 2014
