You have very good questions and I see the point you are making. But the reason I decided to even bother with trying to get on with trimac is the pay differential between driving vans and tankers. It wouldn't be worth leaving my employer to go to another for the same pay "projections". If the maximum pay projection is 60k which means optimum miles, optimum accessory pay, and optimum driving conditions for 365 days of the year you work, it's an unrealistic expectation to have. I don't even know why truck employers dangle the carrot out like that. They hope too much and expect you to do the same. No thanks.

From my former company drivers experience the best way to find a nice job is craigslist.
As far as mileage these Otr positions will easily average you 3500 miles a week with a truck governed at 70, sometimes higher .
I'm not a recruiter and not going to name, do the research, call the boss and see what the vibe and the equipment is like .The sole purpose of me posting here is to ask you to dream a little bigger, open the horizons.
If everyone in trucking industry well stand up to these slavery wages then we will all be better off

I do think truckers wages are doing a little better than the rest.
It's been only a year or two since 50 cpm is what 40 used to be.
It's a mistake to think these extra 10 cents are not important.

Generally higher cpm means less miles. Heartland prime example. Never believe what companies or recruiters promise. They aways refer to their top drivers pay which you will never get. Best way is to avoid CL and recruiters. Goto a truck stop and start asking around.

Got to be careful with that as well given how much money gets paid out in referral bonuses to drivers.

    TheJU312 Thanks this.

That's true too. Also you have to watch out for those trucker stories too lol. Sometimes it's not the company but the driver. You'd have to talk to several drivers from the same company your thinking of going with. I'd never go just off one driver. I keep having a schneider recruiter calling me for tank division promising 80k the first year...lol do I sound like I'm a complete idiot?
