Florida Rock & Tank has an Atlanta terminal.
Doubt if you can make a thousand a week or more there as you can with the other companies that have been recommended.
Decent Atlanta area tanker companies

I can really only compare it to the Volvo I had before. The ride is a little rougher and turning radius is wider but overall I like it. Hard to complain when they gave me a brand new truck. Best part is that I am not in it as much as the Volvo. I am really liking the regional run as opposed to the otr I was doing before.

Univar is hiring a local driver if your interested, I think they train. They're in Norcross.

Trimac has a terminal in Fairburn, most trucks are auto. You will easily make a grand a week.

Superior also has a terminal in Morrow (next to DANA). Some trucks are AUTO but mostly manual. Pay is very good if you know how to work the system. Not sure what their local/dedicated freight is like as I am not out of there. I do very well as a system driver. It's a very good company to drive for, pay packages do vary but the linehaul is paid the same: .50 loaded, .40 empty, load/unload pay, hourly demurge after 2 hours, hourly paid after 14 hours of layover.
