Hello all,
Name is Katie. I've loved trucks since I was a little one, and now after 2 years being a class 8 mechanic I am going for my cdl. I know I know, why two years working on them and no cdl. Trust issues is why. I have 3 horses and 3 dogs in which I have to leave In the care of the other half while gone. While I have been with him about 2 years now, I have been iffy on him taking care of the animals. I am confident now and wanting to take my first step. I was thinking about truck driver training institute in richburg. There is a slight problem, all the companies I want to drive for I don't know if they support. I have been looking heavily at flat bedding ( melton, tmc, boyd), but have no clue what's best for me. I live in summerville South Carolina. I see boyd at the company I work for, also melton. Like I said I gotta pick from tdi seeing as I have no monies to shell outta pocket for the whole training.
Gimme some advice, I'm looking for good home time, yet an enjoyable time out. As long as I make money that is

Contact Melton on their website and ask if they hire from TDI. Check the website, they have a short form to fill out if you're interested in the company.
Howard Transportation is a good flatbed outfit; not sure about hometime, but you can ask. -
My son goes to TDI in Indiana. Melton hires from them.

My bf works for Boyd and really enjoys it. They have been really good to us since he started. We are in KY but his hometime has been great too. I know that my bf is in SC quite frequently if that helps you any.
