Hey guys I'm a newbie, and I was just wondering how difficult learning to drive the actual truck was relative to say ..idk .. Driving a stick shift car.. Cause I was learning to do that last summer for a valet job and after a couple of weeks just gave up when I found one that didn't require you to know manual .. My friend who put me on this trucking life said it was easier , but I just wanted some other people's perspective , thanks.

Piece of cake and that's no joke. After some experience you won't even need the clutch except in city traffic or stopping and starting.
Lots of companies with automatics though; more and more companies switch to automatic transmissions and many of those hire new CDL graduates.
Put you location on your profile so we know the hiring area you live in.
