Not sure where to post this but "The Welcome Wagon" seemed appropriate. Just passed my CDL tests yesterday and went to make it official at the DMV today. I am now walking around with one brand spanking new Class A CDL in my pocket.
Woot Woot...
Now... The next step... Deciding on a company that will take me... lol ...
Stay Safe,

Well, they did it... Gave a CDL to ME!!!

OK...fess up...which company are you going with? Please don't say it's one of those mega training companies unloading your own trailer at some el'cheapo store.

Macdaddy, hi i'BlackApples, since you are new i would like to ask you a few questions please.Have you got a job yet since you now have your CDL'S? If you do have a job are you already on it? My training will be in West Memphis Arkansas, i'm already prehired for a company and i am to report there as soon as i have my CDL.

For example, look at the list I posted above and those are only a tiny portion of what's available. -
It looks very good that we will be heading from Florida to North Carolina in the near future. One of the instructors at the Sage School I attended said that would open up more options for us if we were in NC vs FL. Said something about more routes available in that area, etc...
Pam I correct in thinking that the "routes" he referred to was basically better access to the National Network up there vs only having main access to I-95 down here so more options for loads and better options for getting back home when needed?
What other advantages will I find because of the change in geography?
Thanks much for any responses.Chinatown Thanks this. -
In Florida you have 3 major interstates; I-95, I-75, I-10 and they all lead to other major freight lanes. The only benefit to living in NC is more trucking companies to choose from, but you're still limited due to wanting a pet policy. You can still run coast-to-coast whether you live in NC or Florida. Abilene Motor Express is still a good choice for a new driver living in NC or Florida plus a pet policy.
