Today the truck started acting like it had a miss. My driver pulled over and noticed the fuel filter assembly (its a clear filter assembly) only had about 1/4 inch of fuel at the bottom. It was missing but still running. Any ideas? 1/2 tank of fuel. Made it back to the shop.

Not enough fuel in the fuel water separator. Did he recently have that fuel filter changed?

if it's the davco fuel filter, it sounds like it is just fine. after I change mine you cannot see any fuel in the filter sometimes for a couple thousand miles. it does not always start to fill immediately. unless trash is in fuel sys or water, e.t.c. 1/4 inch of fuel, just means that the filter has quite a bit to go before it needs changing.

there are several things that can cause what feels like a miss. a air to air leak can sure cause it. just had 1 on my turbo clamp. clamp cracked & it had lack of power a stumble/rumble to it just like a miss.
