Since ive been pulling for ats, ive seen some loads that say 1/2 inch chains required. Military stuff. D rings and cut outs on the rgn trailers arent rated to g70 1/2 chain. Does anyone carry 1/2 in chains? Or just use more 3/8? Im thinking about buying 20ft chains and cutting them on half. Id have 4 10ft with one hook each. And yes ive got snap binders rated at something like 9200#s. If i use them often id buy rachets.
1/2 in chains

Ratchet binders are the way to go. You broker through them or work for them
Go to midwest steel north of U Haul on Lincoln Av in St Cloud for tie down gear -
Oxbow, snowman_w900 and northernhopper Thank this.

Im doing what they call a lease. I call it a rent. I live an hour from St. Cloud. Fleet farm has the chains. Closer to home. Are they needed? Should i get 4 10ft? One hook or two per chain?
I agree on the rachets. Ive already get snaps though. -

It only took me one forehead gash and a concussion later to leave those snap binders to the professionals. I would get the 1/2" you may use them few times a year you always have to be able to do what the other guy can't.
