Hi guys, this is my first post here. I had made the decision that I was going to start trucking school Sept 28th last month. I was driving yesterday and I got a speeding in a school zone 30 miles an hour in a 20 (posted speed was 30). I just honestly didn't see it, ugh. I was very surprised to get pulled over to be honest until the cop told me why. This is the only ticket on my record. I haven't had a ticket in 7-8 years so I am hoping for diversion.

Does anyone have experience with diversion and getting the ticket off your record?

How will this 1 speeding ticket affect me getting a job after I get my cdl?

    Thanks,

Most likely won't affect you at all, just make sure you take care of the ticket.

If you can Id check into getting a lawyer or at the very least talk to the prosecuting attorney and explain how this one ticket could effect your future and maybe you can get it lowered to somthing trivial.

You're VERY lucky that you don't have your CDL already. You should be able to attend your state's version of driver education and keep this off your license points-wise. (you may still have a monetary penalty though..)

At least here in FL, as a CDL holder you are held to a higher standard then general license holders, and therefore are not eligible for this option.

Don't worry, you'll be hired. Fight the ticket in court though.

How should I fight it in court? To be honest I don't have any extra cash to hire a lawyer. I was guilty, I don't know if I have much defense. Should I just plead no contest and plead to the judge to please give me a driver education class to hopefully get it removed off my record?
