Changed fuel filters. Turned on ignition for about a minute to prime up system before starting. Lift pump is running. Truck started then shut off. Took off filters and they are 90-95% full. Turned on ignition and let it prime again. Noticed check engine light on. Sprayed some starting fluid this time but still no start. Hooked up pressure gauge and get no pressure at any of the ports around the fuel system. Code in system is PID 94 FMI 0. Any thoughts on where to start? I need to knock this out quick tomorrow. Starting vacation.
Just odd it started after changing filters. New customer also. The fuel in the old filters was black. I know he has an EGR issue but that I think is unrelated.

94-0 is fuel pressure too high. Engine should still start. Weird. What else are you doing to it?

Nothing. Just serviced. That is the only active code.

I for sure do not have fuel pressure there. The one time it picked up to like 170psi it started and then the pressure dropped and the engine shutoff.

OK I was pulling code from memory. It was actually PID 94 FMI 1. Which is Low. Sorry.

Ok I got it. I pushed in the compuchek located by the fuel pump while my dad turned engine over and got air out of system. Crazy. Never had one do like that before.

Lift pump. You can put a pressure gauge on the compucheck fitting and the lift pump should make about 15 psi. When they start to go bad they can even pull up fuel from the tank.

    Smellfunny Thanks this.
