a little secret about dd15 oil consumption. first of all when you check the oil level make sure the truck is stopped on flat/strait ground. about 2% left or forward angle(which is almost not detectable by eye) will show you low oil level about 1/2-3/4 gallon. when you add that oil it will not stay in crankcase. it will slowly go out through centrifugal air breather with crankcase gases . do not add oil if level is half of dipstick mark unless the truck is at shop's flat floor.

I'm in a 2015 Cascadia on a Ryder National Lease. All our company trucks are specd through Ryder. The C.B antenna is what Freightliner calls cab integrated to cut down on drag. When they designed these trucks they did everything they could to cut down all drag possible to get the MPG's up. I installed the 2 bolt antenna mount on the passenger side and ran a 18 ft coax through the door and behind the plastic trim with the handle on, unscrewed the plastic overhead for storage above the windshield and pulled the coax to the C.B. I put a 5 ft antenna on at a 30 degree angle facing forward. This gets the antenna away from the cab to limit interference and my SWR's are 1.1. Using a Uniden 78 with a basic tune I now get about 6 miles out.
The truck has a 450 Cummins with a 10 speed manual. We are governed at 69 with no idle policy. We run everything east of 35 with a wide range of weight in a dry van. I have put 56 K in the truck and am averaging 7.4 MPG. The first 52 K miles the truck did not pull very well and was overall weak. At about 53K - 54K it seems like the computer released more HP and torque. She now pulls pretty good. -
