I'm taking a very serious look at putting a 2nd truck on with schneider. Has anybody else on here added extra trucks? If so, any advice?

It used to be your truck that you drive is only one on choice any others with drivers are on the Legacy or mileage board which SNI dispatches.

I've heard the legacy is being phased out.

Besides SFIand SNI make it so easy for someone to become an IC I don't see anyone wanting to drive for someone else.

I met a guy a couple months ago who was driving a black Pete that's part of a fleet. It was on choice. I do believe some people would like the idea of driving a nicely spec'd truck at a decent pay rate. Some people know themselves well enough to know they don't have the discipline required to self dispatch, pay the bills, etc ..

Some guys could care less what they make, as long as they have a nice truck

Legacy is no more...only choice now exists...the ones who are still on legacy will soon be told that they have to go on choice or go some where else...that's what I was told in green bay...unless someone else has some new info that I'm not aware of..

this is true too. There are companies built around that philosophy. I'm trying to do something that is a little of both. A late model truck, all the goodies, and decent pay. Not the absolute best of either, but what i feel is a good compromise of the 2.

There is not too much room for too many middle men. O/O through a carrier at 65% makes sense. However, if you are thinking of hiring drivers to driver your trucks it is best to get your own authority and work directly with brokers or customers. This way you have the opportunity to bring more than 65%, up to 90%.
Other than that there is just not enough money to make it worth while. IMHO.
