I was wondering if there are any Southern California locals have ever worked for Robertsons Ready Mix? I was wondering what is their pay? I'm interested since they hire rookies and they are local in Southern California.

Any general insight on ready mix driver positions would be helpful. How labor intensive is it? Thanks guys.

I've never worked for them. But I've heard not so pleasant things about them. I think they pay 15.00/hr. Which IMO is slave wages. But if someone can live off that then more power to them.

Thanks pes2, as a rookie cdl holder the most I've made was $20 hourly working other non driving jobs with crappy work conditions and out of state. So if robertsons is $15 hour that is slave wages but also if it goes up that'll be okay since being a rookie it's tough getting a job.

Do you know if they have benefits? What type of un pleasant things did you hear about them?

Im going to interview with robertsons soon.

Don't know anything about their benefits. I've heard the drivers aren't treated very well. And the pay being low. I see their trucks running all hours of the day and night. Also they must have a pretty high turnover rate,I see their ads looking for drivers all the time. Most of the equipment I see looks fairly old. But that doesn't mean much if has been taken care of and well maintained.

Are you seeking a mixer driver job?....
Why not check with Standard in Chino or Holliday Rock?...IIRC...They're in Upland....

If you want a job running T &T...West Coast is good....

    Robertsons is like Cemex....
    Bottom of the barrel.....

    pes2 Thanks this.

What is t & t? What makes a company crappy? I'm new to the cdl diving industry and only have experience in public service so I'm hoping the driving industry is in the business of providing a service.

As far as Robertsons and Cemex....
They are to the building materials sector as Swift and CRE are to Freight....
