Can anyone tell me the difference between the 4 digit code on an injector and putting in injector trim files like 5232 6999 1111

Why do they put a 4 digit code on each injector vs 1 trim codes for all injectors

The way it was explained toe was that the trim codes are to find tune the injectors so that they all flow evenly and each cylinder gets the same amount of fuel.

As I understand it, after being built and rebuilt injectors flow at different rates and the trim codes are used to make them match. Setting all injectors to one code would enable an uneven amount of fuel from cylinder to cylinder.

The 5232 and other codes are good for max power and impressive dyno numbers, not so good for longevity and fuel mileage.

I have heard people swear that they get good results so who knows?

    Just my 2 cents...

Cat dealer put 6999 in my trim files which yes gave me 620 horsepower to the rear wheels if the injectors flow uneven with generic code that's why it runs rough at wide open throttle they're not getting the same fuel that makes sense thank you

IMO The Cat dealer is wrong to use a code like 5232 and 6999. Injectors do not work properly with a one code fits all numbers (5232,6999, etc). You can get an injector over fueling a cylinder by doing this resulting in a scorched piston and other such problems. Hence the reason for trim codes. Each injector gets its own code so all six will flow the same amount of fuel. You can do one of 2 things. Take each individual code and bump it up by 50 (this was done in the early days of tuning). If the code is 215697 for example, add 50 making it 215747. Or find Mr. Haney and get his ecm tune. I believe anything other than what Cat puts in the ecm will void the warranty. The guy who put in 5232 and 6999 may be doing this without Cat's knowledge. In the early days of ecm tuning a super Cat tech was doing this and got fired for it. If this post crosses the over the line of what can be discussed on here expect it to be deleted.

I hope they don't delete information like this this is something I've never been explained I have a ZO6 Corvette when injectors always get the same amount of fuel I didn't know trucks were any different

Bad injectors are not just a cat problem they are industry wide, The Quality off the reman injectors is getting worse.
