They actually still have them and are full of certain ads. Lawyers and escorts are two of the occupations that keep them alive. My friend told me he'd never hire a lawyer off the internet. Old school...like. paper logs! :p

I called up 8 lawyers today. There's a chance that only one might take it (and I only talked to the receptionist). They said they either don't do traffic or woudn't go to my county. I talked to two actual lawyers. I don't live in NYC or LA so my options are limited. I live in a village of 600 people. There isn't even a vet in the village. I did look up Traffic lawyers, and the results I got were all people that didn't want to mess with it. Whoever said that my lawyer was avoiding me was correct. One of the lawyers I talked to had said the same after I mentioned I couldn't get ahold of him. So if anyone knows of a lawyer that will do this in Colfax County, please let me know!

Just out of curiosity, how did he get away with inproper registration? How does that work? I'm wondering if I can somehow use this in my case. No still no lawyer. But I was recommended to another...

He said that was a discussion between the atty and the Prosecution. The atty does only traffic and DUI. Probably playes golf with them. It was a good random selection, yes, out of the phone book.

The registration conviction isn't an excuse, it's an arrangement.

    Yay US legal system!!!

Thanks everyone for the replies! I appreciate it! I must have talked to 20 lawyers. Only one would take it. $2,500 retainer. Said he might be able to get it reduced to improper backing. But i said no for the same reason why I didn't go through with the jury trial. Money. Also I don't even need a CDL. So I'd be basically be pissing up a rope. Tried like hell to get commercial work off-season. Called everyone I know. Big farmers have 6 truck/trailers. I even put 5 ads in the paper. Not ONE call! Everyone and their dog has their own truck/trailer. Especially since farmers don't need a CDL. Really no reason for me to have a CDL. Hauling grain is all I do. For me, and my business parthner. I just have to switch from commercial plates to farm plates. So I say #### it!

That's f'ed up. The appeal sounds like appeal for suspension of cdl rights, not suspension of hit and run conviction.
How does this affect your insurance.

I would fight hit and run conviction.

Second thought. That's just wrong you don't need a cdl to haul cdl required loads. Farmer or not. I don't agree with that exemption and never will.

Heard of plenty "farmers" hauling grain for their "friends".
I'm not in the grain business doesn't affect my work load.

Just think if one needs cdl all should. Out of your fields to your silo or base, ok. Not to a commercial facility. Not for anyone else.

That's way it is here, lots a really nice rigs on a farm plate doing what they do. Some with some without CDL. I see lots of farm plates from Ar pretty deep into neighboring states pretty regular. I will admit I done it myself for a long time.

Yes the appeal is for the CDL revoke only. I myself have lost a lot of business because of that law. Hard to get commercial work. My insurance never changed for the truck. When I got the letter from the DMV, I thought it was for me to file a SR22. Plus I only haul for myself, and my business partner, who I am also an employee for. Not talking about grain hauling, but also other farm work. I don't haul for anyone else. Also about half goes directly to the feed lot, and the farthest I drive is less than 20 (actuall) miles. The feed lot from one field is about 5 miles. Sometimes to the elevator it's about a mile and a half! Plus I automatically get a 15% overweight during harvest.
