cobra 29 lx vs cobra 29 ltd

Out of those the cobra classic. I had the LX and didn't care for it. Out of the truck stop radios I personally would go with the Uniden 980. This radio has a better receive then the other two and very good sound quality on transmit. The only down fall is you can't get lot of power out of them. The up side is it has side band and you can put a amp on them like a KL203 out of the box and do a good job.

I use the 29 LTD only bought 3 in 30 yrs of driving.

not the best but will last a long time of abuse.lol

 

Yeah, I had my days of better, expensive radios. Nevermore. They are great tools and can save one's butt.

Most times however, mine are shut off, or at the very least, the volume way down.

 

Can't beat the Cobra 29 LTD....that and an Astatic NC mike along with a Wilson 1,000 antenna and good coax and you're set.

 

I've used the Ltd classic since 99. But I bought myself a bearcat 880 last year and absolutely loved (pretty, changeable lights lol) it ran good, was easy to set up, but you can't mod it at all, from what I understand.
my current company has classics in every truck, and I'm happy with that, but I still miss my Bear cat
