The specs are a bit different on these newest ones, at least I think they are.

I seem to recall seeing a frequency response of 100-5000Hz on the last one I bought, the one I promptly returned...this one has a frequency response spec of 100-8000Hz...so my guess is they've found a different source for elements.

I just bought Astatic 636L Silver Edition and what seller claim to be real Motorola external speaker(based on recommendations here). I hope both items are good enough for Uniden Grant LT I have.

Grant LT is a great radio. I'm no fan of the 636 though. If you can find yourself an old road king, that's a good one. Otherwise, the Ranger SRA-198 is great, and the CR-577 frankly is king.

Thank you for the advise Volvo244t. I would take a look what I have(result wise) and consider based on that. I do not need supermillionmiles radio.

I just got 4 to 5 pin connector several hours...

Those are the best noise cancelling microphones

I am using a CR-577 in my truck with no issues. Keep the mic gain up on the radio, and the volume on the mic low, and it won't pick up a lot of background noise.

Lots of guys turn the mic itself up so high that it can pick up an ant fart 40 feet away and keep the mic gain on the radio low; this is why they have problems with background noise.

I run my CR-577 at tone 10 and volume 2.

different elements and different audio matching transformers.
It's a completely different microphone since Les Wilson @ DAS subcontracted the manufacture out to a chinese company.
