Did the recent upgrade affect how Tapatalk works?

    I use Tapatalk to browse the forums and recently Tapatalk (on android) did an update. Using the browser (on android) I see you also updated the forum. Since then I haven't been able to access the forums using Tapatalk . It attempts to connect then a window pops up saying it Failed to connect and to check with the forum administrator if the problem persists, to which I am doing.

    I use Tapatalk to browse other forums and I have no issue connecting to those forums.

    yes, they stated in the announcement that tapatalk would not work with this version.

    Its not that it won't work, its that it has undesirable issues, and this site is totally responsive so no need for an add on for mobile. I've uninstalled tapatalk from my phone, because the new software responds so much better on Android than tapatalk that its not funny. MT uses IOS and is loving the new software as well.

    I encourage anyone that was using tapatalk to try the site in mobile browser. I use Firefox and can do everything in there that I can on my laptop. Some people had to resize their keyboard to see what they are typing, but once they did that, they really like the functionality of it without having to install another app to handle it.

    I was concerned about this initially. The old forum was just about unreadable on my phone without Tapatalk. This software is not. Just open the forum in the browser of your choice on your phone and you will find that it sizes nicely. I like it better than tapatalk. No adds and the page looks more like the desktop version. Tapatalk had the forum displayed by larger categories. This lays all of the forums out there without having to know where the sub forum was on the list.

    I browse this site now with my iphone 6 plus and Safari and have no issues at all. The site looks great and the functionality is so much better than when using the tapatalk app. Moderating the site with my iphone is now really easy.....it was all but impossible with tapatalk.

    Like BHW said....give the mobile browser a try.....you may just like it.

    So is there a way to get notifications on the threads you follow with this new version? That was my favorite part of Tapatalk, it have you a notification when someone replied to a thread you were following.

    They will show up in your Alerts at the top in the black bar, far right.

    It sucks tapatalk won't be supported going forward. I particularly found it useful to browse the forum when I was in a low signal area in my phone. Alas, I'll just have to get to this from now on.

    well guess explains why i cant get on with tapatalk. going to suck to having to relearn how a forum is used. tapatalk just made it so simple. Also seeing I'm going to have learn how to resize photos. That was another plus about Tapatalk it automatically adjusted pictures. But yeah the site seems ok on mobile.
