    Hello all,
Just curious about something. It may be six to nine months before I start applying to some trucking schools. I am considering getting a DOT physical and paying for it myself. I want to do this to see if I can pass before going to a school and then find out a day or two after class starts that I didn't pass.

I'm not taking any medications and I just got mt BP checked and it was 120/70. I'm assuming this is possible as long as one is paying out of pocket?

Dont waste your money. You will most likely pass with no problem. When i got mine renewed there was a couple 400 pound guys passed no problem.

Depends on if they're selling cpac machines and sleep studies.

As long as you can see, hear and your bp good, you'll pass. Unless you have a leg shorter than the other by a foot or only two fingers, you might have a slight issue.

Do you have no health problems (current or past) and take no medications? If so, you should be good to go.

Caveat: see @Canned Spam comment above.

Went to a school we paid for. Signed up the day the class started. Was required to take a drug test by noon the next day and physical by that Friday. We had to pay for both.

We were informed that if we didn't pass either, we still owed 25% of the total cost. Over $1000 each... We were fine. Another person wasn't... He still owed. A few people went the week before they signed their contracts to pay for the school.

Just know that if you get a medical card too far ahead of your CDL the company may make you take another physical.

Are you worried you won't pass the drug test part?
